Global Warming

This is an issue that I really am on the fence about. While I do acknowledge that the world is warming, I feel that it is both a combination of man and natural occurences. We have been on our world for only a short period of time compared to the billions of years that the world has existed and we know about what it is like currently but we know vry little about how its climate has changed over long periods of times. However, we know that the world has been through several heating and cooling cycles over thelast one hundred years or so. Like David said in his blog in the 1930's to the 1950's people were panicking over global warming, and in the 1950's to the 1990's global cooling was the big thing that was discussed. Now we are back in the global warming phase. So the fact that it is heating up should be natural. Natural or not, many scientists feel that the Earth is heating up at a faster rate. This is said to be because we are releasing a record amount of greenhouse gasses with our cars, livestock, factories, amongst other things. Many people are now viewing Greenland and Antarctica as signs of global warming. Tons of ice are melting into the ocean every day and this terrifies many people. This could be a warning or this could just be part of the life of our Earth. In my opinion there is so much we don't know about global warming. The only way that this can be fixed is if this issue is no longer political and scientists get together without conclusions made in their minds previously.

Good post. I like how you approached it scientifically and explained both sides. Good graph too
